5 Signs You Need To Replace Your Tires

Monitoring your tires and making sure that they are in the best shape possible is not only safe, it can help save you on gas and other possible expenses. How do you know when it’s time to replace your tires? Here are five signs that it’s time to pay your local Bruneel Point S a visit.

Your Tires Are Old

At the uppermost extreme limit, most tire manufacturers say that tires should be replaced before the 10-year mark. To be on the safe side, however, six years, is the prudent limit. If you have tires that are six years or older, they are likely beat up by sheer time on the road alone.

You Can See The Treadwear Indicator

New tires have a feature known as treadwear lines. These are barely visible when your tires are new, but as they get used and worn out, one or more of these lines will run parallel with your tires. If you can see them, that’s bad!

Vibration While Driving

If your steering wheel vibrates, that may be suspension issues. But if you feel vibrations under your seat, then the issue is with your tires their possible failure while on the road.

Visible Defects

If you’re seeing bulges, cracks, gouges or other clear signs of physical damage, wear and tear this is not going to get better! It only gets worse from here.

Try The Penny Test

Just take a penny and stick in the tread of your tire. If the penny is mostly obscured, you’ve got plenty of tread left. But, if you can see the top of Lincoln’s head peeking out at you, your tires are too thin!
